Internship Program

Choosing our practice means gaining comprehensive, real-world clinical experience in a thriving, privately owned private practice right here in Colorado Springs.

To qualify for our internship program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Academic Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a formal, accredited Master's Level Counseling or Social Work program.

• Practicum Readiness: Formally approved by your university to begin your clinical practicum or field placement.

• Time Commitment: Ability to commit to a minimum of 8-20 hours per week, including direct client contact and weekly supervision.

• Schedule Flexibility: Availability to accommodate client schedules, which may include select evening and/or weekend hours. 

• Professional Liability Insurance: Proof of active student professional liability insurance coverage prior to your start date.

• Multi-Semester Commitment: Preference is given to students who can commit to staying with our practice from their practicum through Internship II.

Our program is structured to provide rigorous clinical support and a gradual, manageable transition into clinical practice. Here is what your experience will look like:

Supervision & Training Support

• Individual Supervision: Meet weekly for one-on-one supervision with an experienced, licensed supervisor.

• Group Consultation: Participate in weekly group consultation sessions to collaborate and consult with peers.

• Cohort Training: Attend regular, structured group training sessions with your fellow intern cohort.

• Shadow Sessions: Observe experienced therapists in live sessions before managing clients independently.

• Administrative Training: Receive comprehensive EHR training and a practical introduction to insurance and private pay billing systems.

Caseload Expectations

• Practicum Students: Build up to a small, focused caseload of 3 to 5 clients per week.

• Internship Students: Graduate to a larger, more robust caseload of 6 to 12 clients per week.

While this is not a paid position at this time, we do offer a small stipend once you have successfully completed your practicum session, for students who remain with our practice through their internship. As our practice continues to grow and evolve, our compensation structures and program offerings may also change and adapt over time.

We are currently accepting applications for Practicum and Internship students for the Fall 2026 semester. Additionally, the application window for Spring 2027 students opens July 31, 2026.
